Perhaps our highest recent achievements were our 2005, 2006 and 2007 appearances at the Country Music Association’s Fan Fair in Nashville, Tennessee. We were one of 23 bands chosen by audition to showcase at the CMA's Acoustic Stage. While in Nashville we performed at Layla's Bluegrass Inn, and Robert's Western World; two of Nashville's famed Broadway Honky-Tonks. We are proud to say that we now have a standing invitation to appear at the annual CMA event.

Our name, The Lime Hollow Boys™, comes from an actual location at the junction of the townships of Potsdam, Madrid, and Norfolk, NY. This, the original Lime Hollow, is the site of an abandoned limestone quarry and primitive reduction kiln. This picturesque glade, long overgrown and treed with stately hemlocks, is located on John’s property. Even on the warmest day, the hollow is a cool retreat, and the home of many species of wild creatures, including white tail deer and the occasional Adirondack black bear.

Ray Gardner, our bassist, is originally from Massena, NY and now lives in the Brasher-Winthrop, NY area. Ray is a machinist retired from ALCOA. He has played bass and lead guitar with many well-know bands over the years and played professionally with Floyd in years past. Ray and his wife Barbara have 4 grown children and several grandchildren. Ray and Barb’s children are musical. Ray has played swingin’ acoustic bass since his high school days, and is among the very best in the state. His vocal harmonies and occasional lead adds much to the Lime Hollow Band’s sound. Ray’s bass provides an incredible foundation for the band, and much of the drive for the swing of our music. Ray is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

Mike Hartigan formerly of Potsdam, NY was our original keyboardist, accordionist and second fiddle. He has performed with John since age thirteen. Mike has completed his degree at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and resides in Boston. He adds his keyboard magic on two tracks of our 2nd album. Mike now pursues a professional career in music performance, writing and arranging. We welcome Mike to perform with us when he is home on infrequent visits.

Champion Fiddler Floyd Sherman grew up on the family farm in Madrid, NY, on the bank of the Grasse River. Floyd retired from the NY Dept. of Corrections where he worked as a welder. He resides in West Potsdam, NY. Floyd has a grown son and several grown step children and step grandchildren. Floyd’s composition, The Grasse River Waltz, was the title tune of the band’s 1st compact disc. Floyd has played fiddle and guitar in many popular country bands over the years, most notably, the Ranchmen. Floyd was among the “Liberty Fiddlers” who played for the 1986 Statue of Liberty Centennial rededication in New York City. He is an antique car enthusiast and restorer.

Andy VanDuyne is a versatile guitarist and keyboardist. He formerly taught instrumental music at Norwood-Norfolk (NY) Central School. Andy filled in with the band for several years, and has now come aboard as a full-time member. He and John have performed together in another band for nearly thirty years. Andy is a prolific songwriter and has several self-produced albums. He is active in amateur (ham) radio and was a local radio personality for years. Besides his duties with The Lime Hollow Boys, he finds time to be the regular "morning man" at our local commercial radio station WPDM / WSNN.  Andy lives in Norwood, NY and has three grown, musical children.

John Wolfe, the band’s leader, guitarist, and vocalist is retired from 33 years as a public school teacher. Their children and grandson are musical. John wrote several of the band's recent hits, including "Big Bowl of Chili."

As members of the world-famous Norwood Brass Firemen, John and Andy played on the Whitehouse lawn for 1st lady, Nancy Reagan, played for two US Presidential Inaugurations, and for the opening ceremonies of the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. They opened for, or appeared on the same program with acts diverse as John Sebastian, Helen Reddy, and the US Marine Corps Band!
